Training at Marie Stopes

Background

Since its inception in 1988, Marie Stopes has grown rapidly and this has created a major challenge in terms of developing and continuously improving the skills of all team members. To do this, we established a training unit in 1996 to provide regular and needs-based training.

Over the last few years, MS has conducted and developed a substantial number of training programmes and training modules for the Directorate General of Family Planning, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, NGOs and donor agencies.

As MS continued to expand, the need to maintain quality was paramount. To do this, MS developed a team of experienced trainers who could provide training on a variety of reproductive health issues. These were designed both in-house and with external technical assistance. As MS experience and reputation grew, the courses were open not only for other Marie Stopes International partners but also to other Bangladeshi and international organizations.

MSCS was awarded contracts to conduct training in RTI/STI syndromic case management, infection prevention, post abortion care, HIV/AIDS, adolescent friendly health services, male services, Violence Against Women.
